Engineering and construction
Verwater constructed five storage tanks with a total capacity of 160,000 m3 as an expansion of the existing NuStar Terminal on St. Eustatius in The Caribbean.
Two of the five tanks have an internal diameter of 36.7m and a height of 24.3m and are used for low sulfur diesel storage. Three tanks have an internal diameter of 43.5m and a height of 24.3m and are used for high sulfur diesel storage.
Verwater equipped all tanks with transfer piping, transfer pumps and instrumentation, and was also responsible for the civil works. More than 100,000 m3 of soil needed to be removed by Verwater before it was possible to start flattening the ground.
