Enci IJmuiden

Enci IJmuiden is part of the Heidelberg Cement Group and produces blast furnace cement since 1931. The plant has a production capacity of 1,4 million ton cement per year.

Industrial Services upgraded the old Allen Bradley PLC 5 control for one of the grinding installations in combination with ECS to Siemens PCS7 version 8.1. PCS7 runs on two virtual machines on a ESX server. With the introduction of PCS7, ENCI IJmuiden made a start towards a uniformity across the different sites in the Benelux.

In addition to the replacement of the operating system the entire motor control center and the control cabinets in the field have been replaced.

The use of PCS7 and good manufacturing practices resulted in reduced downtime, less maintenance time and faster solutions of issues, which resulted in an increase in production and efficiency.
