Earlier this year Verwater Singapore was awarded the contract to relocate 3 storage tanks from Tuas Singapore to Pulau Sebarok.
The 3 tanks, all 30 meters in height and diameters ranging from 23m to 28,5m had to be relocated using Hercules 2 Floating crane which has a capacity of 3200 Tons. Tank 207 was lifted by Hercules 2 on the 28th of March and was successfully landed on its temporary foundation on the same day.
The tank will be relocated in the tankpit later by using jacking and skid track methods. Tank 408 was lifted by Hercules 2 on the 30th of March and successfully landed on its permanent foundation on the same day. Tank 407 has to be jacked and skidded to the pick-up location in order to be lifted by Hercules 2 on the 31st of March and successfully landed on its permanent foundation the day after. Making tank 407 the biggest tank ever in South East Asia to be relocated by a Floating crane.
Thanks to all involved for making this possible, Vopak, Hiap Seng Engineering, Verwater and Asian Lift.
